Pretty in Pink

This week I’ve made a table plan, table cards and place cards in a gorgeous baby pink and ivory. The accessories compliment the post box and guest book.

Jane & Rebecca contacted me back in February. They are having a civil ceremony in July. They are from my home town of Liverpool. I spoke to Jane on the telephone whilst Rebecca made a list of everything she wanted. I had to laugh, I heard Jane say, ‘Becs you can’t have everything that is on her site’

They are very excited about their day and I’m so glad I have been part of it. It’s lovely to hear the enthusiasm in their planning. I spoke to Jane on Sunday just before I started the table plan. She can talk for England, bit like me. Liverpudlians are always the same when they get together. We discussed the table plan, our animals, places in Liverpool. I feel like I know them.

Jane admitted she has turned into Bridezilla!

I know they are planning a blog after their day. A guide on services and customer service they received. I will share it with you at a later date. She told me about a funny incident with one supplier. They are to provide champagne flutes but could only find Mr & Mrs. Jane said, ‘Buy 2 sets then’. The suppleir said, ‘well we’ve not had a civil partnership before so don’t know what to do. I agreed buy 2 sets you will then be prepared for the next civil partnership. I did point out. I think people are afraid of offending people if they ask questions. Jane pointed out, it easier to just ask. I wonder how many suppliers out there are afraid of just asking, ‘how everything should be done’?

The wedding table plan was trimmed with baby pink satin ribbon top and bottom. I made pink tables printed on an ivory pearlescent card. I incorporated layered butterflies in pink and ivory keeping in with the colour scheme. I layered the butterflies, pink for top, ivory underneath. When you lift up the wings the ivory can be seen. I made them with pearlescent card to give them a shimmer. I finished of with gorgeous swarovski crystal trails.

Here we have matching table cards. The names were after place they had visited in America. The top table being universal after universal studios. I’m told these will sit in glass slippers. Wow!

Finally the wedding place cards. Printed on an ivory pearlescent card, trimmed with layered butterflies and crystals.

I do hope they like everything! I will be making 2 personalised wedding reading scrolls in matching colours. They are going to present them to their readers after the event, as a little keepsake

Wedding Seating Plans

I love making wedding seating plans, but they cause so much hassle for the bride. I think planning a wedding goes pretty smoothly, because most couples have an idea of what they want for their special day. The table plan throws everything out the window. Trying to seat realatives that don’t get on etc. I’ve listened to so many stories over the years. It’s seems to be the biggest headache for the couple.

I always recommend that it’s made 4 weeks before a wedding, not before.  It can change days before a wedding. I make a lot of seating plans and 99% of the time it will change.

When should I order a Wedding Seating Plan?

Book your seating plan early but don’t insist it’s made 3 months before  your day. Believe me, I’ve made so many, only to get a panic phone call that it’s all changed. It seems like a lot of stress from the guests that the couple could do without. I think it’s fine if there is someone on the table plan but they have backed out. Leave them on. If someone has been added last minute I will always change it. There’s nothing worse than going to a table plan to find you are not on it.

It’s a bit like a map. I think it’s why so many grooms like them. It tells you what table you are on, not the seat. Place cards tell you where you actually sit.

Why do I need a Wedding Seating Plan?

Table plans are must. It’s information for your guests. Imagine if you didn’t have a seating plan. It would be a bit like wandering round McDonalds  trying to find a seats! You will get odd seats etc.  You don’t want guests wandering around a room when you are trying to get on with speeches etc.

Wedding Post Box

I would like to showcase a wedding post box. Many couples set up home before they tie the knot. All the essential items have already been bought. I have made wedding post boxes for, ” a honeymoon pot” “new kitchen fund” This is a secure place to leave a monetary gift. I’ve read some horror stories where cards and cheques have got lost. There was no place for the cards, so, they got left on tables only to find that most were missing at the end of the night.  I always recommend a post box is set on a table along with the guest book in a place where it can be seen. Have it emptied at the end of the wedding reception. Put it back out for the evening guests. I hear many times there are a couple of teenagers with no real role at a wedding. My suggestion is,  put them in charge of the post box and guest book. It’s an opportunity to make them feel part of the wedding and also to get to know your guests while taking around the guest book.

I had a lovely call from a bride. She ordered a post box. Her Gran who was wheelchair bound sat with it on her knee for the whole of the evening reception. She couldn’t get to mingle with the guests, so they went to her. Seems see met everyone there and had more chance to chat with the guests than the bride and groom! Love it.

Post boxes are made from scratch so I can usually make them within 14 days. They can be matched to most colour schemes. I have many different designs on my web site. The themes range from butterflies, roses, flip flops, hearts and more. Embellishments include crystals, diamontes and bows. Post boxes come in three different sizes.

I also make matching camera boxes. This is a place to post the disposable cameras at the end of the evening. A lot of guests pop them in their bag and take them home without thinking. I can make you a tag to tie on the handle thanking them and asking them to deposit in the box before they leave.
